Dada — Privacy Policy

Effective: July 7, 2026

Dada is a family app that helps a child and a far-away parent, grandparent, or relative stay close through video calls, diaries, and a virtual reward game. It is operated by eqx lab (“we”).

We built Dada around one rule: your family's data exists only to make the app work for your family. We do not sell it, share it, advertise with it, or use it for anything else.

No accounts

Dada has no sign-up, no passwords, and no login emails. The app connects to our database using anonymous authentication — there is no account tied to an email or a password. The information you choose to enter (such as names, photos, and diary entries) is personal to you and is stored with your connection, so we treat it as linked to you.

What the app stores

When you create or join a connection, the following is stored in our database (Google Firebase / Firestore), under your connection's pair code:

What we never do

Calls

Video calls happen in Apple's FaceTime app, outside Dada. We cannot see, hear, record, or access your calls in any way.

Children

Dada is designed for families and is meant to be set up by an adult. We store no more about a child than the family chooses to enter. There is no behavioral advertising, and links out of the app sit behind a grown-up gate.

Security

Data access requires anonymous authentication plus knowledge of your pair code. Treat the code like a key: anyone who has it can view that connection.

Retention & deletion

Removing a connection from a device does not delete the shared data (the other person can still use it). To permanently delete a connection and all its data, email the pair code to eqxben@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
